Embracing
Change
This workshop will motivate women to take care of themselves, in terms
of their health and well being. Dr. Journeau will encourage all to
embrace change as it not only inevitable, but it opens up
possibilities.

Janice Journeau is a General Surgeon practising in the Shuswap.
She completed all of her education in the US and moved here 4 years
ago after practising in Hood River, OR for 9 years. She selected the
Shuswap because it offers a good climate as well as abundant outdoor
activities. She enjoys skiing, both nordic as well as downhill. She
also enjoys cycling, both road and mountain biking.

Networking
with Purpose
If you are like most women, you network to meet new people. This might
be to expand your social circle or to develop your business and meet
new potential clients. If you’ve made one new friend or business
acquaintance in the past year you have most likely been successful by
being yourself, being a good listener and following up with coffee,
meetings and more conversation.
In this fun, interactive workshop you will have a chance to meet
someone new and learn about the dos and don’ts for networking in your
community. If you want to maximize the time you spend networking, this
session is for you!

Jan Seelinger has lived in Salmon Arm for 16 years. She moved to
Salmon Arm to be a business owner. Almost 8 years ago a life
threatening illness changed the direction that she wanted to take with
her life; she knew that she wanted to give back to her community, most
importantly to the women and children. Jan works as a Specialized

or are experiencing domestic or sexual violence. She is passionate
about working to end intimate partner violence in our community. She

Two years ago she underwent some changes in her own life, and had to
make clear choices as to how she would choose to cope and look after
her own self care; she chose health and fitness. Jan had practiced
several forms of martial arts in the past and thought it would be
great to incorporate these within her workout regime. She started
training in Muay thai kickboxing, the training led to competition,
where in 2010 Jan won a bronze medal. |
