We are thrilled to announce the date is set for the 7th Annual It's All about Women Conference and Exhibition. Join us on Saturday January 28th 2012 for what has become the premier event for Women in the Shuswap Okanagan area.

We’ve come a long way baby! The idea first sprouted at a Women's Only Seminar at my office of Edward Jones Investments. The idea took root and I called on friends and colleagues for help and suggestions. My vision was clear from the start. Construct a first class event just for women that would enrich and empower and at the same time raise money for charity.

We’ve had our fair share of growing pains. Our first year was not exactly a resounding success. In fact that year we had more volunteers, exhibitors and speakers than attendees. But we didn’t give up, instead we adapted.

The next year we changed the date; changed the location; held both a conference and an evening gala and introduced “The Woman of the Year Awards ". The event began to gain momentum and support and has grown exponentially every year since. In fact, for two years in a row the event has sold out! In past years we've fundraised for the Canadian Cancer Society and The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

In 2010 we shifted our philanthropic efforts to our own community and joined forces with the Shuswap Area Family Emergency Society (S.A.F.E.). The S.A.F.E. Society operates many different programs in our community that help women and children in crisis. Our Saturday night dinner celebration is now called the "Take Back the Night" gala to symbolize the end to domestic violence. 2011’s conference raised over $8,800 for the S.A.F.E. Society.

Our fundraising goal for our 2012 event is $15,000. You’ll enjoy educational, motivational and inspirational workshops.

The conference is all about having fun and learning. Our keynote speaker will be both thought provoking and energetic. Partake in interactive exhibitors booths; network with like-minded women; forge new friendships and renew existing ones. Stay for the gala. It's always a wonderful evening and very inspirational. The evening is capped off with the Shuswap Women of Distinction Awards The Take Back the Night Gala also includes a scrumptious dinner, live entertainment, dancing and maybe a few other surprises thrown in for fun.

Ladies you deserve a day just for you. So bring a girlfriend, your mother, your sister, your daughter. It truly is All About Women! Ladies only during the day please, but men are most welcome at the Gala.

See you there!

Coralie, Founder It’s All About Women Conference and Exhibition
